Crescendo

Crescendo is a styling project created for FAST Mag's 2024 Issue, exploring the visual and structural possibilities of layering. I developed four looks for both male and female models, building each one from minimalist foundations to fully realized maximalist compositions. The progression became a study in texture, proportion, and rhythm—how clothing can accumulate, shift, and transform as layers interact.

Photographed as a series, the project frames layering as both technique and narrative, using each look to trace a gradual rise in complexity. Created within Berkeley’s student-led fashion magazine ecosystem, Crescendo stands as an exercise in editorial experimentation and controlled escalation—quiet to bold, simple to ornate.
